Benefits of Porcelain Veneers

A dental veneer may be the solution if you have a chipped, cracked, or discoloured tooth. By using a veneer, we can fully restore an imperfect smile quickly and affordably. With their natural shape and white colour, our porcelain veneers will look seamless in your mouth. We match them to your teeth so accurately that most people will not know you have them. Veneers can also be used to protect compromised teeth structures. You can avoid a crack or chip potentially spreading and causing further damage with a protective capping over the tooth.

It is also beneficial that porcelain veneers are not made from the same enamel as your natural teeth. Our veneers resist decay and staining better than your natural tooth enamel since they are non-porous.

How Long do Veneers Last?

Most veneers will remain strong for 10-15 years on average. With proper care, however, they can last for much longer.

Our Veneer Process

Porcelain veneers are custom-made and require two appointments to place. During the first appointment, sedation may be used before your dentist slightly reduces the size of your teeth to prepare them for the veneers. An impression is then taken of your teeth, which is sent to a dental lab to create veneers that perfectly match the size and shade of your surrounding teeth. Temporary veneers are then placed on your teeth until your permanent veneers are ready.

When the dental lab has finished creating the veneers, we place them on your prepared teeth using a strong dental adhesive. A high-intensity light is then used to set the adhesive and permanently bond the veneers to your teeth.

Caring For Your Veneers at Home

While a veneer itself cannot suffer any decay or disease, it is possible to develop a cavity within a tooth covered by a veneer. We recommend brushing twice-a-day and flossing at least once to avoid this. Regular dental checkups and cleanings are still required to keep your teeth healthy.
