Meet Dr. Nathan Miskin
Dr. Nathan Miskin is a caring and compassionate professional who truly loves dentistry. Dr. Miskin earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Western University in 2018 and joined North Centre Dental in November 2019. He always thoroughly explains all aspects of your oral health and ensures that every experience is a positive one. Dr. Miskin is interested in all aspects of dentistry and is great with patients of all ages. He is licensed with conscious moderate sedation to offer a combination of oral sedation and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for anxious patients.
In his final year of dental school, Dr. Miskin received two major awards: the London & District Dental Society Award and the Dr. Igor Bolta Memorial Award in Restorative Dentistry. These distinctions are awarded to one fourth-year student for clinical and academic excellence.
Volunteering and supporting people without access to dental care is very important to Dr. Miskin. He first participated in a mission trip to the Philippines, where he was able to bring modern dental care to groups of people in need. In June 2018, Dr. Miskin travelled to Guatemala City, where he provided dental care to the locals and gained valuable experience with surgical wisdom tooth extractions.
Dr. Miskin’s wife Emily worked at the St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital in the labour and delivery ward. Throughout her 10 years there, both her and Dr. Miskin fell in love with the city of St. Thomas. They are very proud to be part of this growing, welcoming community.

Your First Visit
Along with your smile, please remember to bring your completed patient information forms and your insurance card. Regular checkups are an essential part of preserving a healthy smile! To keep your teeth and gums healthy, the Ontario Dental Association recommends visiting your dentist for regular checkups and routine teeth cleanings every six months. We understand that you have a busy schedule; so when arranging your first visit to our office, please remember that appointments can last between 45-60 minutes.

Dr. Nathan
Swain
Dentist
Dr. Nathan Swain is the newest dentist to join the Railway City Family Dental team. From a young age, science and biology interested Dr. Swain. During highschool, he shadowed professionals within the health and dental industry, which then led him to the University of Toronto. While there, he completed the General Science program before finishing his schooling at Western University.
Just two months after graduating from Western’s General Dentistry program, Dr. Swain’s passion for helping patients quickly attracted him to the Railway City Family Dental team. Since then, he has truly enjoyed meeting so many lovely members of the St. Thomas community and helping give them a reason to smile more. All of our patients and team members have welcomed Dr. Swain with open arms since his delightful personality makes everyone happy each day.
When he is not conducting his main responsibilities of diagnosing, treatment planning, oral surgery, or operative dentistry – Dr. Swain enjoys cooking, running, playing piano, and travelling. He recently took a trip to Italy with his friends, and he dreams of returning one day to explore the country even more.
We are all very thankful that Dr. Swain chose to join Railway City Family Dental. With amazing team members like him, dentistry is made simple for every patient that visits our office.
Jenn
Reception Admin
Jenn has been a part of the Railway City Family Dental team since we opened our doors in January of 2023. She is passionate about making dentistry simple for each patient at our office by ensuring the beginning and end of their appointment is pleasant. Jenn is also extremely organized, making her the ideal team member to handle all scheduling, insurance coordination, and dental-supply orders. After three years in the industry, she has gained the knowledge to easily answer any questions patients may have regarding their appointment.
From a young age, Jenn developed a love for visiting the dentist since she enjoyed the feeling of perfectly clean teeth after each visit. Years later, she now helps guarantee a smooth experience for every patient that she assists. When Jenn is not at our office, she most enjoys playing Settlers of Catan with her husband, Nick, or getting outside with their affectionate golden retriever, Chewie.
Kennedy
Dental Hygienist
Kennedy is a skilled hygienist who has worked in the dental industry for over a year. We were all very happy to have her join the Railway City Family Dental team in May of 2023. Since then, she has helped each of her patients stay comfortable and enjoy their time at our office. Kennedy most often conducts teeth cleanings and initial dentistry exams for children. She has an impressive ability to help young patients feel relaxed by occupying their minds during treatment and educating them about their oral health. This promotes healthy routines from a young age and lays a strong foundation for future development.
Outside of the Railway City Family Dental office, Kennedy loves painting, photography, and playing with her energetic dog, Harley. She also has two cute hedgehogs named Zeus and Athena; ask her to see pictures at your next appointment, she loves to show them off.
Gelena
Dental Assistant
After six years working as a dental assistant, Gelena’s impressive knowledge shines through every day as she helps our team members care for patients. Her passion for dentistry comes from a love of making people smile. She believes that by helping patients optimize their oral health, they will feel more confident to show off their teeth. The more people smile, the happier they feel, which is one of the many reasons Gelena is so dedicated to assisting our team, and patients.
While she helps us with everything around the office, Gelena’s favourite responsibilities are taking impressions and designing models of our patients’ teeth. She finds it very satisfying to create a physical representation of someone’s smile. When she is not assisting our team, Gelena most enjoys reading, as well as playing basketball or baseball. Gelena also loves to explore London; she says that the architecture and size of the city reminds her of when she used to live in the Bahamas.
Lindsay
Dental Assistant
Keeping patients comfortable is our top priority at Railway City Family Dental. With team members like Lindsay, we exceed this goal each day. After working 10 years in the dental industry, she has an incredible ability to put patients’ minds at ease. Lindsay always keeps patients informed and relaxed during each step of their appointment. At a young age, she overcame a fear of visiting the dentist, which created a drive to help others do the same. Since then, Lindsay’s commitment to her patients has helped so many enjoy their time at the dentist and get excited about improving their oral health.
When she is not assisting us around the Railway City Family Dental office, Lindsay loves to spend quality time with her husband Mike and their two kids, Lucy and Caleb. The family loves playing with their cat Kevin, and getting outside with their dog, Izzy any chance they get.
Bailey
Dental Assistant
As one of our amazing dental assistants, Bailey is responsible for prepping instruments, cleaning operating rooms, helping our dentists chairside, and comforting each of our patients. With such an approachable personality and extremely bright smile, this comes very easy to her. Bailey always loved visiting the dentist as a child. This ignited her desire to work in the dental industry from a young age since she wanted others to feel the same excitement. Over the past two years, Bailey has taken every opportunity to learn more about improving her patients’ oral health.
Before arriving at Railway City Family Dental, Bailey discovered her interest in oral surgeries and was excited to learn more about them from our experienced team. She truly enjoys assisting Dr. Miskin or Dr. Swain with these in-depth procedures, so she can grow her knowledge and one day conduct them herself. When she is not brightening everyone’s day at the office, Bailey loves to travel and spend time with her two cats, Winston and Bella.
